Start Before You Feel Ready
Most people I meet who want to start a business are waiting for something.
They are waiting for more money in the bank, a better economy, a sign from God, or the day they finally feel ready. I understand that feeling. I have lived it. But after more than 20 years in business, I can tell you the truth: that day almost never comes on its own.
Ready is not a feeling you wait for. Ready is something you build by moving. The first client, the first sale, the first mistake you survive. Each one teaches you more than another year of planning ever could.
In our families we are taught to be careful, and that is a gift. Our parents and grandparents worked hard so we could have choices. But careful should never turn into stuck. Honor their sacrifice by using the choices they gave you.
So start small if you need to. Start on weekends. Start with one service, one product, one customer. Just start. Confidence shows up after action, not before it.
