When Your Family Doesn't Believe in You Yet
One of the hardest parts of chasing a dream is when the people you love most don't see it yet.
Maybe your mother wants you to keep the steady job. Maybe your spouse worries about the bills. Maybe your tíos ask at every family gathering when you are going to get serious.
I want you to hear this: their doubt usually comes from love. They have seen hard times. They want to protect you. That does not make them right, but it does mean they are not your enemy.
Don't try to argue them into believing. Show them. Keep your promises. Pay your bills. Let your results do the talking, one small win at a time. Over time, the people who worried the most often become your proudest supporters.
And while you wait, protect your belief. Find people who are building something too. Read, pray, plan, and keep going.
Family is the heart of who we are. You don't have to choose between your family and your dream. Very often, your dream is for them.
If you need a reminder that believing in yourself is not crazy, get "Are You Delusional?" on Amazon: paperback $12.99, Kindle $4.99.
