Our Culture Is a Business Advantage

A lot of Hispanic entrepreneurs are told, directly or not, that their background is something to overcome. I see it the other way around. Our culture is one of the strongest business advantages we have.

I have spent years working in the U.S. Hispanic market and the tax industry, and I have watched business owners succeed by leaning into who they are. Think about what so many of us grow up with: a work ethic that doesn't quit, families that show up for each other, and communities built on trust and word of mouth. Those are not soft qualities. In business, they are loyalty, reputation, and referrals.

The key is using them on purpose. That means understanding your community better than anyone else, building relationships before you need them, and being proud of the language and values you bring to the table, not hiding them.

This is one of the four themes in "Are You Delusional?" because I believe it is one of the most overlooked opportunities in American business. Hispanic entrepreneurs don't need to become someone else to win. They need to become more of who they already are.

Read more about it in the book. Get "Are You Delusional?" on Amazon: paperback $12.99, Kindle $4.99.
